About The Position

This position involves performing ultrasound scans to produce images that assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and diseases for patients of all ages. The role includes clerical and service duties under the general supervision of the Mammography/Ultrasound Supervisor. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekend availability required, and the hours are from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. This position may also offer a signing bonus, which will be confirmed during the interview process. Requirements

  • Completion of an Associate Degree in medical imaging and/or health-related field.
  • Registration or registry eligible by the ARDMS.
  • No restrictions prohibiting work as an ultrasonographer in Massachusetts.
  • Obtain additional registration in Vascular, Breast, GYN, Abdominal.
  • BLS healthcare provider certification required before completion of 90-day probationary period.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record appropriate patient clinical information and/or history; verify physician assessment of each patient.
  • Adjust standard imaging procedures and techniques to accommodate patient size, age, or condition using Universal Protocol.
  • Assist, transfer, and position patients as needed, ensuring their modesty and physical safety.
  • Select equipment scan parameters appropriate to examination and patient condition.
  • Process and record scanned images per Radiologist protocol to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Review scans with Radiologists as requested and accurately document work in HIS/RIS/PACS systems.
  • Check operation of equipment and adhere to Q.A and maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables and equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Keep rooms well stocked with linen and necessary supplies.
  • Stay updated with changes in the field of ultrasonography through inservice study, courses, or seminars.
  • Maintain yearly competency in Trophon disinfection processes.
  • Assist in other areas/modalities as needed.
