About The Position

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer: Performs Ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated health care provider. Provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to the patient's questions and concerns. Recognizes the patient's individuality and provides quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment. Maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, which includes continuing education, acquisition of specialty specific credentials, and recredentialing. Performs diverse imaging across the spectrum of sonography.

Requirements

  • Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
  • Post High School Diploma Program
  • Relevant Experience
  • BLS Certification
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (OB or AB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(S)
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (RVT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(VS) is obtained within 18 months of hire
