About The Position

The Ultrasound Sonographer Reg I is responsible for performing ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated healthcare provider. This role requires the sonographer to provide clear and informative explanations to patients regarding the purpose of the ultrasound procedure, addressing any questions or concerns they may have. The sonographer must recognize and respect the individuality of each patient, ensuring that care is delivered in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner, utilizing professional and ethical judgment throughout the process. In addition to performing diverse imaging across the spectrum of sonography, the diagnostic medical sonographer is expected to maintain continued competence through lifelong learning. This includes engaging in continuing education, acquiring specialty-specific credentials, and undergoing recredentialing as necessary. The position requires the sonographer to rotate through all shifts, including day, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations, ensuring that the department of Radiology is adequately staffed at all times. The role is integral to the Radiology department, where the sonographer will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality imaging services. The sonographer's ability to communicate effectively, work as part of a team, and maintain attention to detail is crucial for the successful execution of ultrasound procedures and the overall patient experience.
