About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is looking to hire a HC Services Manager to direct the technical and clinical functions of the Diagnostic Section of the Department of Radiology primarily serving as a clinical expert on diagnostic radiology services and technical utilization of specialized diagnostic imaging systems. Requirements

  • Requires completion of one of the following educational pathways: · Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited or equivalent program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography or Vascular Technology, or · Completion of a two-year or more accredited health science program (i.e. Radiologic Technology, Medical Technology, Nursing, etc.) plus completion of a twelve-month formal education program in Sonography, or · Completion of a bachelor’s degree plus completion of a twelve-month formal education program in Sonography.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a clinical leadership/management role in Radiology.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage effective and smooth operations in Radiology department by utilizing various management principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.
  • Ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Technology experience using multiple software applications including Microsoft office suite, Epic or other electronic medical records systems.
  • Basic knowledge of university policies, procedures and systems.
  • Considerable experience (3-5 years) working as an imaging technologist (eg: RT, RDMS).

Responsibilities

  • Human Resources Management: · Benchmark, develop, recommend, review, and monitor staffing models in conjunction with departmental HR Representative and /or Senior HR Leader.
  • Hire, develop and manage the performance of clinic assistant manager and clinical staff.
  • Financial and Data Management and Analysis: · Prepare and/or assist in budget development; provide projections and recommendations.
  • Manage financial and productivity data and monitor budget to meet goals. Resolve budget discrepancies.
  • Operations, Standards of Care, Regulatory Compliance, Quality and Patient Satisfaction: · Identify trends and determine QA priorities.
  • Recommend QA and patient/customer satisfaction strategies.
  • Develop and monitor plans to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Allocate resources to meet quality and productivity expectations.
  • Patient Care/Services Delivery: · Research, develop and implement best practices to improve care delivery across units.
  • Work with other departments on implementation.
  • Collaborate with medical directors from multiple disciplines regarding care and/ or service quality/ delivery.
  • Planning and Goal Management: · Assist in developing strategic plan, implementation plans with unit leaders and monitor progress.
  • Communication/Collaboration: · Coordinate communication and support collaboration among staff, medical staff, and healthcare leadership.
  • Engage and collaborate with physicians to identify opportunities for improvement, program development and capital budgeting.
  • Advocate for needs of unit with healthcare leaders; may collaborate with medical director of unit regarding program development, process improvements, and equipment budgets.
  • Education Programs: · Provide clinical education to develop staff competency. Oversee clinical education activities and agreements with educational institutions.
