About The Position

The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). Pay Range: $50.00 - $50.00 Position Overview Minimum Pay: $50.00/hr. Performs perinatal ultrasounds up to fourteen weeks gestation, general ultrasounds, and venous vascular ultrasounds. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of ultrasound and theory, anatomy and pathology processes utilizing the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal exams. Adheres to departmental policies and protocols ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation. Provides accurate interpretable data, relevant clinical history and technical interpretation results for all exams performed. Completes temporary ultrasound reports in ultrasound record keeping computer system and complete patient charting. Collaborates with appropriate physicians (Pernatologist, Radiologist, and referring Physician) in reviewing ultrasounds. Sends images to PACS. Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work area in a neat and safe condition, ensuring the safety of patients and employees. Maintains an orderly, safe and clean environment. Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and exam rooms are readily available for procedures. Troubleshoots equipment effectively and reports equipment failures to the biomedical department. Performs routine maintenance and aseptic cleaning of all patient related equipment according to manufacturer specifications. Adheres to proper infection control techniques to maintain established standards for patient safety. Adheres to patient safety practices in the department at all times demonstrated by the use of side rails, braking mechanisms and patient observation.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of ultrasonography including education for general, perinatal, and vascular procedures.
- RDMS Abd and RDMS Ob/Gyn and RVT or RVS or ARRT. (VS) (must obtain 2nd and 3rd registries within 6 months of hire) OR ARRT(S) and RVT or RVS or ARRT(VS) (must obtain 2nd registry within 6 months of hire).
- Recent hospital experience as a vascular and general sonographer or recent graduate of an accredited school.
- Demonstrates familiarity with ACR standard exams.
- AHA Heartsaver AED
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use software to perform vascular testing.
