About The Position

As a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer, you are responsible for performing routine and complex obstetric ultrasound cases. You will demonstrate knowledge in various fetal conditions and anomalies as well as an understanding of contributing high-risk maternal factors.

Requirements

  • One year experience as a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer (MFM) - preferred.
  • Graduate of an educational program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Associates Degree or higher in related technological field - preferred.
  • Current certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in Obstetrics (OB) within one year employment start date.
  • Fetal Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Certification within 1 year of employment start date.
  • RDMS in Fetal Echocardiography (FE) must be obtained within two years of hire.
  • BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a procedure plan that falls within established protocols.
  • Recognize sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal function, tissue, structure, and blood flow.
  • Perform measurements and calculations according to practice protocol.
  • Strive to minimize patient exposure to acoustic energy without compromising examination quality and/or completeness.
  • Sonogram maternal pelvic structures, fetal biometry, long bones, AFI, FHRT's, extremities, calvaria, brain and facial structures.
  • Sonogram maternal uterine arteries as well as fetal umbilical and middle cerebral arteries.
  • Record diagnostic images and data for use by the interpreting provider.
