The Ultrasonographer is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Ultrasound Department. This role involves performing ultrasound exams, including doppler/duplex exams, developing ultrasound films, and retrieving prior films and reports as required for sonography exams. The Ultrasonographer assists Radiologists with sonography exams, monitors daily quality assurance, and records data. They are also responsible for the proper start-up and calibration of ultrasound instrumentation, reviewing and updating ultrasound procedures, and managing inventory and requisition of supplies. The position requires utilizing the RIS/PACS System to enter, retrieve, and maintain data, and may involve exposure to hazardous drugs. Attendance at OSHA training is required upon initial employee orientation and annually.
