Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography upon hired preferred and
ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography within12 months required or
ARDMS – American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers upon hire preferred and
ARDMS – American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers within 12 months required and
RVT or VT(RVS) within 12 months preferred
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Ultrasound Technology preferred
Associates degree preferred
2 years of clinical experience in hospital radiology preferred

Responsibilities

Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam.
Perform complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.
Adjust ultrasound parameters appropriately for age related factors
Assist Radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic techniqu
Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, and suggest differential diagnosis
Utilize proper downtown procedures for PACS, Ambra and HIS/RIS
Work in tandem with staff to ensure laser images are placed of CD from modalityor, PACSare printed or Ambra as needed
