This position is primarily responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonogram examinations. The ultrasound technologist may assist the Interventional Radiology team via sonography. Responsibilities include: performing patient care services relevant to performing ultrasound procedures to include ensuring appropriate pre-procedure measures are taken; room, equipment and supplies are obtained. The ultrasonographer documents acquired information on the ultrasound images to assist the radiologist. Other duties may include: maintaining a log of completed procedures, performing QA, and responsible for ensuring properly cleaned equipment. This position requires interaction with radiologists and referring physicians. Performs duties with independence and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
