About The Position

The UKP Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing annual operating budgets and monthly financial statements, including budget variance reports, explanations of variances from budget, and income statement reconciliation. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Prepares annual operating budgets and monthly financial statements, including budget variance reports, explanations of variances from budget, and income statement reconciliation. Develops pro forma financial information to evaluate financial viability of programs, divisions, or providers to assist clinic administrators and physician leaders in decisions related to clinic performance. Meets regularly with department administrators and Chairs to present monthly financial reports and discuss financial planning and performance. Has working knowledge of software programs needed to conduct research used in performing analysis, including patient billing and accounting systems. Develops and maintains models used for incentive calculations and conducts incentive calculations and payments on a quarterly or semi-annual basis. Evaluate that physician compensation is appropriate and equitable compared to national benchmarks. Uses statistical and financial principles and techniques to prepare repor ts. Makes recommendations related to financial trends and clinical performance. Suggests remedial measures. Serves as project leader, providing work instruction and assignments, coordinating efforts and report completion. Evaluates operational techniques, budgets, programs and practices to ensure most economic operation. Prepares financial reports and findings via presentations using charts and graphs. Communicates results internally and externally. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 or more years of experience in budget and financial planning & analysis.
  • 5 or more years of experience in relating to cost and/or general ledger accounting.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, financial and statistical analysis techniques, and report design through use of report writers, spreadsheets, database software, and graphical presentation software.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 or more years of health care related experience in accounting or finance.
  • 3 or more years of experience maintaining a budgetary and/or financial reporting system.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - State Board of Accountancy
