About The Position

Are you tired of working to patch legacy applications and ready to put your knowledge, skills and experience to work building a true modern application that is new development, cloud native, working in a SecDevOps environment including real Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, Test Automation, in a consistent Agile Software Development Framework? CACI is currently looking for UI/UX Designers with agile methodology experience to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia!

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation.
  • Degree in a related field, such as Interactive Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or Human Factors.
  • 7+ years of professional experience with 5+ years’ experience in UI/UX development.
  • Professional experience with enterprise UI design tools such as Figma (preferred), or similar tools.
  • Professional experience communicating designs with stakeholders such as product owners, end users, development teams, and management.
  • Proficiency in development and maintenance of web applications using React, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, HTTP, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with Java and associated frameworks such as Spring/Spring boot.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools such as Harness, Jenkins, GitLab or Bamboo.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong work ethics and a self-starter.

Nice To Haves

  • Design Thinking certifications such as those offered through IDEO, Stanford, Cornell, MIT or other organizations.
  • Proven experience designing for web accessibility (Section 508 standards).
  • Experience with information architecture.
  • Ability and interest in educating others on user-centered design best practices.
  • Advanced understanding of Lean processes, and Agile principles.

Responsibilities

  • Create intuitive, user-centered designs and develop responsive, interactive user interfaces that are maintainable, efficient and reliable.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and stakeholders.
  • Develop user interfaces that meet business requirements and user needs.
  • Lead the development of a cohesive look-and-feel and standardized user experience across applications.
  • Develop compelling, creative, and user-focused experiences that align with clients’ business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to create and execute experience style guides, interaction patterns, and information design standards.
  • Develop wireframes, mockups, and/or prototypes supporting design ideas and effectively communicate ideas to various stakeholders.
  • Establish standard layout and style libraries across applications.
  • Work closely with the functional team to determine feasibility of requirements and collaborate on design ideas and improvements.
  • Ensure product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports.
  • Work independently and efficiently within an agile software development environment, utilizing tools and practices like JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, unit testing and harness.
  • Provide mentoring to junior members of the team.
