About The Position

The ACC UI/UX Designer position will help shape the digital experience of our church by designing intuitive, engaging, and accessible user interfaces across web, mobile, and digital platforms. This role supports the church’s mission by ensuring that digital touchpoints—such as the website, event registrations, giving platforms, and ministry tools are clear, welcoming, and easy to use for all ages and backgrounds to assist in carrying out the vision and values of Athey Creek.

Requirements

  • Agree to ACC’s doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision Statement
  • Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in scripture
  • Have a strong work ethic, be organized, able to think through processes and anticipate issues, and be able to follow through with the system requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in UI/UX or digital product design (or equivalent portfolio experience)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design thinking and visual design skills
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar
  • Experience designing responsive web and mobile experiences
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and how to collaborate with developers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Engage as part of a team with Athey Creek staff, always being edifying to one another
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and special events as needed
  • Regularly interact with clients to hear and meet their needs through strong collaboration and people-first development
  • Design user-centered interfaces for church websites, mobile apps, and digital tools
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders, communications, and IT teams to understand needs and goals
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that align with the church’s brand and values
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions with congregants and staff
  • Improve digital journeys for key experiences (e.g., first-time visitors, online giving, event sign-ups, sermon access)
  • Maintain and evolve a consistent design system and UI standards
  • Support ongoing optimization based on analytics, feedback, and ministry growth
  • All other duties as assigned
