HNW Private Bankers at Citi play a crucial role in developing and deepening client relationships to thoroughly understand their financial situations. This understanding allows them to create tailored wealth management strategies that meet the unique needs of high-net-worth clients. The role requires Bankers to add value by leveraging a network of internal resources, often on a global scale, to achieve desired outcomes for clients. Successful Bankers are adept at adapting a disciplined sales process to convert a pipeline of prospects into target market clients, ensuring that they deliver quality Private Bank client relationships in a highly competitive and fragmented market. They must take full advantage of the Citi franchise while adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements to protect both the Bank and the clients. In terms of responsibilities, HNW Private Bankers are tasked with new client and business development, which includes growing client net revenue annually across core product areas such as investment management, capital markets, and banking & lending. They are responsible for creating sales and marketing strategies aimed at generating revenue growth and acquiring new target clients across various sectors. This involves prospecting to generate leads, developing prospects, and networking to identify referrals to new clients. Bankers must profile, qualify, and convert prospects into Citi Private Bank clients while identifying and executing new business opportunities with existing clients. They orchestrate appropriate specialist resources to develop tailored, long-term solutions for clients and communicate complex financial concepts and investment strategies in an easily understandable manner. Relationship management is another critical aspect of the role. Bankers serve as the client's advocate and trusted advisor, providing strategic advice on financial matters. They create, organize, and implement wealth management strategies designed to deepen relationships with existing clients, manage client expectations, and ensure that financial strategies remain aligned with client objectives. Additionally, they must understand and communicate the risks involved with financial and investment strategies, ensuring that all client inquiries and problems are handled effectively. Compliance oversight and controls are also essential, as Bankers must comply with all regulatory policies and control procedures regarding client transactions and suitability. They oversee processes such as Investment Objective Setting (IOS) and Client Risk Profile (CRF), ensuring that clients are onboarded appropriately with all required documentation completed accurately.
