About The Position

As our underground mobile maintenance mechanic, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment to keep our production going and our profitability up. Every day you will work in a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You’ll start every job with safety first by inspecting your workplace, and your equipment. To thrive in this role, you must be able to perform equipment lubrication, field repair, and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems. We’re on a remote island, you must know how to work independently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in heavy diesel mechanics.
• Ability to work independently in a remote location.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair.
• Commitment to safety and ability to conduct thorough inspections of equipment and work areas.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a mining environment.
• Familiarity with MSHA regulations and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment to ensure production and profitability.
• Perform equipment lubrication, field repair, and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct workplace inspections each morning and prioritize work accordingly.
• Assist with welding and fabrication tasks, as well as changing tires on rubber tire equipment.
• Complete required maintenance reports and logs.
