The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program is a federal initiative facilitated by the FBI, which provides essential and reliable crime statistics that serve various stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, researchers, media, and the general public. The individual in this role will act as Nebraska's primary contact for UCR/NIBRS, collaborating closely with law enforcement agencies, professional partners, and the FBI. This position entails performing technical and professional tasks, including data collection, law enforcement training, auditing, statistical compilation, data entry, reporting, and analysis related to the UCR/NIBRS program. This position is also responsible for producing the annual 'Crime in Nebraska' reports and facilitating the transfer of data from law enforcement agencies to the NIBRS Repository, while ensuring timely exchanges of NIBRS data with the FBI CJIS Division. In addition, this position establishes auditing guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance for submitting law enforcement agencies. Furthermore, oversight of the Crime Insight data repository includes managing Nebraska law enforcement agency users, addressing reported issues, and serving as the primary contact for users. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. This position is expected to demonstrate significant initiative and independence in fulfilling their responsibilities.
