Our Government Services team plays a crucial role in providing cleared resources with a global reach to federal civilian, Department of Defense (DoD), and intelligence community markets. As a Unified Communications Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and defining system architecture for both new and existing unified communications systems. This role encompasses overseeing the entire system lifecycle, including design, modeling, security, integration, and testing. You will contribute to complex engineering projects, manage the deployment of collaboration tools, and ensure the efficient performance of communication systems. In this position, you will manage approximately 18,500 customer phones, ensuring system reliability and performance. You will provide Tier 2 and 3 technical support for voice operations and collaboration tools, assess severity, prioritize tasks, and resolve support issues effectively. Your expertise will be critical in overseeing systems such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco TelePresence Management Suite, among others. You will also address security, backup, and redundancy problems with complex solutions, perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to support system improvements, and prepare comprehensive documentation for processes and procedures. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with customer management and GDIT management to implement system changes. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be essential for coordinating with various teams and providing weekly status reports to managers and stakeholders, keeping them informed of project progress and any issues that arise.
