About The Position

WSP is seeking a highly skilled and motivated UAS Technical Lead to join our growing Geospatial Team. This leadership role emphasizes program level management, project delivery oversight, staff development, and strategic growth of UAS services. The role includes project scoping, proposal development, training, and development of new geomatics teams in growth areas. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling photogrammetry and LiDAR sensors and proficient in data processing and management software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Pix4D, and TopoDOT. Previous experience with Riegl LiDAR systems, including RiProcess, RiAcquire, and PosPac, is required. Your Impact Program Leadership & Project Management Lead Regional UAS teams and manage complex projects. Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Coordinate proposals, develop scopes, and establish fees. Standardize workflows and SOPs across regions. Lead long-term UAS program strategy. Serve as senior technical advisor. Training, Mentorship & Workforce Development Develop structured training programs for staff. Implement SOPs for consistent operations. Mentor staff and support career growth. Promote safety and continuous learning. Strategy, Growth & Team Development Build new geomatics teams in growth markets. Identify service gaps and expand capabilities. Integrate new technologies and workflows. Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance Review LiDAR and photogrammetry deliverables. Ensure compliance with FAA and WSP standards. Oversee QA/QC processes. Project & Client Engagement Support proposals and client presentations. Advise on technical and project challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics (Land Surveying Related Fields) with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of land surveying experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years UAS/Geospatial experience
  • FAA Part 107 Certification
  • Experience in project management and leadership
  • Proficiency with LiDAR and geospatial software
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and be willing to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
