About The Position

Serve as an Unoccupied Aircraft Systems (UAS) technician in the University of Vermont Spatial Analysis Laboratory. Acquire, process, analyze, and document UAS datasets. Instruct various audiences on the applications of UAS technology. Support research objectives related to environmental monitoring and UAS applications and regulations, with particular focus around disaster response and public safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
• FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification with valid sUAS rating.
• Three months of experience with UAS flight operations using multirotor, fixed-wing, and/or VTOL sUAS.
• One year of geospatial experience, which may include university-level coursework.
• Knowledge of principles, practices, terminology, and trends in UAS industry, geospatial technology, and disaster response.
• Knowledge of principles, practices, terminology, and trends in public safety, disaster response, and emergency management.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain FEMA IS-100, IS-200, and IS-700 certifications.
• Ability to obtain CPR and first-aid certifications.
