The Construction Coordinator oversees utility asset removal and decommissioning projects within the Florida territory, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. This role is central to coordinating between asset owners, clients, and internal project teams, primarily managing subcontractor relationships to execute field work. Key tasks include reviewing project scopes of work, conducting pre- and post-work site inspections, managing required permits, updating project tracking, and closing out projects in work management software. This role ensures smooth project execution and promotes safety and professionalism throughout the process. This position is an individual contributor role, working in a field settings.

  • Facilitate communication and coordination between project stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and asset owners.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to work duties, assignments, or tasks.
  • Track the status of ongoing work and oversee the financial aspects of the removal and decommissioning projects, ensuring milestones are achieved.
  • Review project scopes of work and removal plans for clarity, accuracy, and feasibility.
  • Create project estimates for removal work using a predefined template that calculates final project costs.
  • Plan and execute daily tasks, ensuring quality standards are met while adhering to time and budget constraints.
  • Manage the subcontractor bidding process, including distributing bid requests to the approved contractor list, clarifying scope, and evaluating proposals for the Florida territory.
  • Prepare, organize, analyze, and report post-removal inspection results.
  • Monitor the progress of pending estimates, ensuring they are completed and approved within the allocated time frames.
  • Provide updates and reports on project activities and status directly to the key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of subcontractors, equipment, and necessary resources to ensure timely project start and completion.
  • Identify the need for necessary permits and work closely with state or municipal authorities to procure them as needed.
  • Complete the job closure process in the work request software after all tasks are finalized.
  • Ensure a consistent focus on safety and professionalism across all aspects of the project, following all safety protocols.
  • Ensure the proper care and maintenance of any vehicle and equipment assigned including regular inspections, maintenance checks, and prompt reporting of any issues to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel.
  • React safely and appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Report and respond timely and accurately to the supervisor.
  • Participate in employee and professional training events as assigned.
  • Travel 75% statewide in Florida working in a field setting.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and work rules.
  • High-school diploma with a minimum of 2 years electric utility or telecommunications industry experience or a Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related technical field) with 1 year of industry experience.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, and data entry.
  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal.
  • Perform moderately complex arithmetic computations.
  • Apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Identify, address, and resolve problems involving multiple variables and varied situations.
  • Valid driver's license along with a clean Motor Vehicle Report. Must pass the Davey Driver's Safety Course.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • 3 years prior electric utility or telecommunications industry experience.
  • Electric hazard identification, electric equipment identification, or communication equipment identification capability.
  • OSHA 1910.269 qualified training is preferred but will be provided as required by the project.
