About The Position
The University of Alaska Fairbanks Grounds Department is seeking a reliable and skilled Small Equipment Operator to join our night shift snow removal team. This position focuses on maintaining ADA parking spaces and high-traffic walkways to ensure safe and accessible campus conditions throughout the winter season. Working Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM This is a temporary, night-shift position that plays a vital role in keeping campus accessible and safe for students, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
- HS graduation or the equivalent. Grounds shop - Must be Department of labor eligible minor.
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
Responsibilities
- Operating skid steers and plow trucks for snow and ice removal.
- Applying sand and salt as needed.
- Performing light equipment maintenance and safety checks.
- Working independently in varying weather conditions.
