About The Position

As a member of the outpatient behavioral healthcare team, the UA Tech will coordinate, facilitate, perform, and observe urine toxicology testing of patients. This role requires strict adherence to protocols for testing, ensuring patient privacy, and maintaining a professional atmosphere. The UA Tech will also be responsible for organizing workflow, ensuring compliance with quality control protocols, and maintaining stock of testing materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one year work experience in a clinical, medical, residential, office, or similar work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform urine toxicology specimen retrieval following program procedures.
  • Provide high level of professional service and respect for patients' privacy.
  • Organize workflow to ensure efficient and accurate testing.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control and quality improvement protocols.
  • Order and maintain stock of UA testing materials.
  • Complete data entry requirements as needed.
  • Schedule patient UAs using data from EMR.
  • Assure patient confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR and HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with supervisor and team members to address quality of service issues.
  • Maintain and update technical knowledge and skills.
