Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a CDL Driver to join its organization. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or recognized equivalent.
  • Valid state-issued Driver's license with a current CDL 'A' endorsement.
  • Previous experience with driving commercial vehicles (straight truck or tractor).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US 'Secret' clearance and HAZMAT endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up materials and deliver to the intended destination in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Verify count of material picked up and note any exceptions including possible damage or count discrepancies.
  • Move material (both hazardous if certified, and routine materials) in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Utilize various material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other devices required to load, transport, and unload.
  • Operate company vehicles such as forklifts and over the road vehicles.
  • Complete pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicles are up to date on maintenance and required inspections.
  • Maintain a manual driver's log recording entry at each stop daily including mileage and time arrived at stop.
  • Provide training assistance and lessons learned to less experienced drivers.
  • Ensure familiarity with routes, vehicle specifications, and customer instructions.
  • Maintain safety gear and emergency equipment in the vehicle.
  • Coordinate with management and dispatch for any concerns and ensure all required stops are covered.
  • Record discrepancies and report in driver's log and advise direct manager as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of required tools and equipment.
  • Drive professionally and obey all traffic laws.
