About the position

Regional Automation Workstream Manager will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing automated production systems across the US and Canada region that assure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control within the production sites. The Regional Automation Workstream Manager will adopt as its goals profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and the continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles. Lead and coordinate automation processes across the region including automation engineering strategies and projects in mechanical, electrical, electronics, or software applications. Ensures projects meet specifications, are delivered on time, and within budget. Supports site engineers and vendors in designing and implementing automation equipment and automated processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the regional Automation strategies across the US and Canada sites.
  • Establish and clearly communicate all global and regional Automation strategies to the site engineers.
  • Coach, mentor and train site Automation and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Support recruiting and retention of Automation talent within the sites.
  • Report and drive improvements across the sites through the monitoring of the key manufacturing metrics.
  • Ensure engineering succession plans are developed and maintained across the sites.
  • Ensure the standardization of Jabil processes across the sites in accordance with the global and regional direction.
  • Oversee internal/external manufacturers to ensure parts meet design specifications.
  • Generate design drawings, installation manuals, and user manuals as required.
  • Develop process flow charts, simulation models, layouts, processes, staffing, manufacturing quotes for new business opportunities requiring automated processes.
  • Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and data integrity in order to support process improvement through the organization.
  • Develop long-term automated processes to support future business and future manufacturing processes.
  • Drive manufacturing velocity projects across the region.
  • Manage all projects and initiatives using Project Management tools and principles and ensure projects meet delivery timelines and budgets.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge in mechanical/electronics/electrical/software engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of EMS industries.
  • Advanced knowledge of automation equipment assembly and installation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 7+ years of experience in automation equipment design and installation.
  • Experience with manufacturing of large Form-Factor products such as energy storage systems, batteries, servers/cloud network systems, switch gear with liquid cooling, or other data/dev center infrastructure.
  • Some leadership experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
