The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a U.S. International Tax Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Providing subject matter expertise on U.S. tax law relating to international activities and operations throughout the tax life cycle (planning, reporting, compliance, and defense). Prepare U.S. international calculations for the federal tax return including but not limited to FTC, GILTI/NCTI, FDII, Subpart F, E&P, CAMT, tax basis studies, and BEAT. Preparing and reviewing international tax forms for the federal tax return. Developing and maintaining sophisticated models to analyze the U.S. international tax consequences of global operations, including FDII (Foreign-Derived Intangible Income), GILTI/NCTI, BEAT, and other complex international tax regimes. Preparing calculations for 3M’s tax provision forecasting and reporting. Providing scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to support tax planning strategies and risk management. Monitoring tax regulatory updates and assessing implications for current‑year and future filings. Preparing and coordinating responses to IRS inquiries and IDRs for U.S. federal and international tax issues, including FDII, GILTI/NCTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, and related provisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Tax, or Economics (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years combined U.S. income tax experience in public, private, government or military environment.
  • Three (3) years of experience working hands on with common tax technical concepts in the US international tax space

  • Ability to work independently on tax research projects and document findings under direction of senior tax team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to adapt to changing business environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work on time-sensitive issues under strict deadlines.
  • Exhibited sense of urgency to drive effective change.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in use of tools such as MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint to create and share data which facilitates decision-making
  • Strong desire to drive process improvement and efficiency through the use of technology.
  • Experience with Corp Tax
