About The Position
The UHealth Champions Coordinator liaises between referral sources, hospitals, and physicians to meet the healthcare needs of patients seeking medical care within the University of Miami Health System. This position coordinates the full cycle of medical services for international or VIP patients by gathering all pertinent data from patients, referring physicians, and payers. The coordinator organizes transportation and lodging for patients, schedules appointments, registers patients, and verifies insurance coverage. They negotiate pricing, follow up with patients for payments, and serve as an after-hour contact on a rotating basis. The role requires troubleshooting problems independently and adhering to university policies and procedures.
