About The Position

The Environmental Engineer position at Anniston Operations (Tyler Union and M&H Valve) involves utilizing expertise in environmental science and engineering to develop solutions, implement programs, and maintain procedures to minimize environmental risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years' related experience, preferably in foundry environmental experience.
  • Experience with conducting environmental audits and maintaining environmental files and records.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of RCRA and DOT rules and regulations.
  • Solid computer experience including proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving mathematical skills to address environmental issues.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Air permitting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring personal safety and the safety of team members by wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Assisting in the development of compliance strategies to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Managing environmental project activities including operation and maintenance of air pollution control equipment and stormwater monitoring equipment.
  • Assisting in the operation of an effective environmental management system.
  • Assessing the environmental risk of activities and advising team members on environmental impact.
  • Calculating potential-to-emit calculations for air permit applications/modifications.
  • Developing and implementing sampling and monitoring plans, including installing, operating, and maintaining equipment.
  • Conducting storm water sampling protocol in accordance with EPA standards.
  • Interpreting data and observations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and advising management accordingly.
  • Preparing technical documentation for management's use when dealing with regulatory agencies and other internal/external needs.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to address environmental issues.
  • Reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to management.
