About The Position

MEMCO is seeking a skilled and certified TXDOT Level 1B Roadway Technician to support roadway construction and quality assurance projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting roadway material tests, ensuring compliance with TXDOT standards, and working closely with construction teams to maintain project quality.

Requirements

• Required Certification: TXDOT Level 1B Roadway Certification.
• 2 years of experience in roadway material testing, quality control, or construction.
• Familiarity with TXDOT specifications and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in documenting and reporting findings in a clear and professional manner.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
• Ability to lift up to [specify weight], work in outdoor conditions, and stand for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with additional TXDOT certifications (e.g., Level 1A Asphalt Technician).
• Knowledge of roadway construction processes and equipment.
• Previous experience in civil engineering or transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform TXDOT Level 1B tests on roadway materials, including soil, aggregates, and base materials, to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Conduct on-site inspections and quality assurance checks during roadway construction projects.
• Document test results accurately and submit detailed reports to supervisors and project managers.
• Identify and communicate issues or non-conformance in materials or processes, recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other team members to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Adhere to all workplace safety and environmental standards.
