About The Position

The Commercial Fleet Support Specialist at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is responsible for performing complex registration and customer service activities related to commercial fleet services. This role involves disseminating information, handling sensitive correspondence, and ensuring compliance with state and federal motor carrier registration and safety laws. The position requires extensive interaction with governmental agencies and the public, working under general supervision with moderate latitude for independent judgment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in customer service, administrative support, data entry, or related fields.
• Experience in the motor carrier industry is preferred.

• Experience with FileNet or similar document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to external and internal customers regarding commercial fleet and motor carrier registration procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
• Processes commercial fleet and motor carrier applications and performs help-desk functions for internal customers.
• Prepares documents for imaging and electronic filing in FileNet, ensuring quality control of scanned documents.
• Processes requests for commercial fleet or motor carrier refunds and researches regulations to ensure compliance.
• Logs, files, and cross-references correspondence and verifies documents/records.
• Answers telephone inquiries and routes messages from customers.
• Assists with business user testing for the fleet registration system and develops training materials.
• Performs general office duties such as data entry, compiling reports, and document distribution.
