About The Position

Primrose School of Willowglen located at 1496 Hamilton Ave, San Jose, CA 95125 is seeking a full-time Early Preschool (2 to 3 yr old) teacher. The children in these classrooms are ages 3 to 4 years old and the Teacher: Child ratio is 1:8. This position has an immediate opening!

Requirements

• Must be fully vaccinated
• 12 core unit classes with a grade of C or better are required (child development, child-family-community, curriculum)
• Work experience in a licensed childcare facility as a teacher
• Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency (Title 22) including immunization, health screening, fingerprinting, and background check
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergencies

Responsibilities

• Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children
• Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis
• Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children
• Ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and provides parents with an overview of the material taught in class
• Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds
• Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities
• Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions as determined by the Director
• Observes all rules and regulations about the health, safety, and care of children
• Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times
• Plans with Education Coach and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials
• Plans with the Director all required parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Able to work on iPad to log children's daily activities
• Must be able to work on iPad to enter children's daily logs, and write incident reports and messages to parents
