About The Position

Operate the twister machine to twist packages of yarn according to the operator training manual and safety standards. This position adds value to Glen Raven by their commitment to achieve the highest level of production, quality and safety as well as teamwork when preparing yarn, received from the doubler, to be twisted into an end product and shipped. Follow company policies, safe work practices, prevent injury to yourself and other associates Report any unsafe work condition or any work related injury to your supervisor immediately Start-up machines after lot change or cleaning Obtain packages of doubled yarn from rack Place packages of doubled yarn into pots Repair end breaks Splice ends Doff packages Remove waste from spindle supply disc Mark cones with assigned color Perform quality checks and recognize potential quality and productivity problems Flag any damaged machinery and document in flag notebook located at computer desk

Requirements

  • Experience: Should take 2 months for someone to learn and become proficient at this job
  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions
  • Requires some basic math skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work in an ever-changing environment with ongoing interruptions
  • Willing to be trained/updated on existing skills
  • Ability to work solo or with a team
  • Ability to communicate with other employees
  • Ability to perform job duties safely - SAFETY FIRST
  • Textile Manufacturing Plant environment
  • High noise level work area
  • Ability to walk and stand
  • Ability to stoop, bend, stretch, push and pull
  • Physical effort consisting of constant use of hands
  • Lifting and moving packages ranging from 5 to 10 pounds
  • THIS IS A 12-HOUR NIGHT SHIFT POSITION 7pm-7am/ 36-48 hours per week.
