The Twister Operator plays a crucial role in the production process at Engineered Floors, LLC, located in Dalton, GA. This full-time position involves operating and monitoring the twisting machine, ensuring that it runs efficiently and produces high-quality products. The operator is responsible for supplying the machine with the necessary raw fiber, continuously patrolling and servicing the machine, and monitoring the quality of the twisted product. The operator must also remove the finished product from the machine and place it in designated containers, such as buggies or boxes, as per instructions. In this role, adherence to safety, plant, and quality guidelines is paramount. The operator will acquire raw yarn from the machine's bullpen, ensuring that they do not pull yarn from neighboring machines. They will verify case labels against the specification sheet for accuracy and follow a doffing schedule to remove TNH packages from the machine. The operator will also be responsible for tying creel yarn using a Weaver's Knot and refilling the bucket with raw yarn as needed. The position requires the operator to maintain the machine's operation by repairing and restarting any positions that break out, tagging any positions that require repair, and ensuring that the work area is clean at the end of each shift. Performance expectations include following both printed and spoken instructions effectively, demonstrating hand dexterity for handling packages, and being able to lift and place packages weighing between 12-20 lbs. The operator may also need to pass a color vision test if required. Overall, the Twister Operator is essential for maintaining the production flow and ensuring that the quality of the twisted yarn meets the company's standards.
