About The Position

The TV Production/Radio Tech position at Albany State University involves technical and semi-skilled work in a production studio and various campus settings. The role focuses on camera operation, editing, and assisting in production tasks, including set construction and maintenance of studio equipment. The position requires producing, directing, shooting, and editing multimedia projects, coordinating production events, and facilitating the operation of telecommunications hardware and software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Media Production or related field.
  • Up to one year of professional experience in video/audio pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Experience developing and managing professional high-quality audio/video projects in a fast-paced organization or news environment.
  • 6 months - 1 year experience with non-linear editing systems: Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Audition, and other video and audio software applications.
  • 6 months - 1 year experience with professional digital workstations and audio boards found in radio stations.
  • Experience with standard digital field cameras from HD-4K and mobile production units like Tricaster.
  • 6 months - 1 year experience with Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of MAC OS and applications such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, and AfterEffects.
  • Some experience with programming automation systems such as Leightronix Nexus, Nex Gen, Zetta, Selector, or other video/audio programming automation systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of audio and video streaming technologies.
  • Thorough understanding of the editing, encoding, and digitizing process.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in troubleshooting equipment hardware/software problems and errors.
  • Reports all malfunctioning equipment to the center director.
  • Assists in overseeing the use of all equipment (field and studio) by staff and students.
  • Supervises student workers and advises Mass Communication faculty on the proper use of equipment.
  • Assists in the selection of equipment or software upgrades and provides specs for equipment purchases.
  • Assists with the technical and creative preparation of information shown on electronic devices as a public service as well as program content for broadcast.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
