About The Position

The Rutgers-Camden Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office is seeking instructors to lead its MCAT workshop course that is offered to undergraduate students for academic credit. The course may utilize materials from a test preparation company such as Kaplan and will be supplemented by American Association of Medical Colleges ( AAMC ) materials and direct instruction. We seek instructors who can teach at least one of the following sections: Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems; Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems; Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior; and In-person teaching in Camden, NJ is strongly preferred but we will consider offering a section through synchronous virtual instruction if in-person teaching is not possible. Two of the four topics on the MCAT will be addressed each class session, which will be held one afternoon a week. The other two topics will be taught the following week. An instructor teaching one section therefore will attend class only once every other week. Instructors should expect to spend approximately 2 hours every other week instructing students, with additional time allotted for grading and office hours.
