The Montana Youth Challenge Academy (MYCA), operated under the Department of Military Affairs, provides a structured, academic, and life-skills-based program for youth ages 16 to 18 who are seeking to make positive changes in their lives. The program runs two 22-week residential sessions per year, serving approximately 110 Cadets in each session. JOB OVERVIEW The Tutor supports the academic success of Cadets by providing individualized and small-group instruction in core subjects, including Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. This position plays an important role in helping students strengthen foundational knowledge, complete coursework, and achieve academic goals during their time at MYCA. Tutors work under the direction of the Lead Teacher and collaborate with instructional staff to create a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages motivation, respect, and persistence.
