About The Position
The Woodstock Academy is seeking dedicated and dependable Tutors and Boarding Student Tutors to support our students in achieving academic success. The Boarding Student Tutor works collaboratively with students, residential life staff, faculty, administration, and the broader Academy community to foster a positive and productive learning environment. In addition to boarding student tutors, we also need tutors to work with students one-on-one for a variety of purposes during the school day, after school, or in the evenings. These opportunities, when available, can be either in-person or virtual. The position(s) will be available on an as-needed basis. The pay rate is $30.00 per hour ($40.00 per hour with a CT teaching certificate) with no benefits provided.
Requirements
- Experience working with students
- Knowledge of computers and internet use
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working with ELL students preferred
Responsibilities
- Meet with students 2 hours per week or more
- Assist student with organization skills
- Assist student with learning self-advocacy skills
- Support student in learning new concepts and completing assignments
- Monitor student progress and performance
- Communicate with residential life staff, faculty, and all necessary parties
