About The Position

Tutorial Services has limited peer tutor positions for qualified students in specific subjects and courses. We also have limited positions available for tutors to assist students in learning strategies and computer software programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, Python, SPSS, Excel, and Access. Tutors work in individual and/or lab situations. Overall schedule varies week to week as tutors provide on demand tutoring to students. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required. Tutors will need to complete a general tutor training program before they begin working and will be expected to complete four hours of continuing tutorial training over the course of the academic year. Preference will be given to applicants who can tutor a number of courses within one or more disciplines for which they have a faculty recommendation.

Requirements

• Must be a current UM-Flint student or a previous UM-Flint student who has attended within the past six months.
• Must have a faculty recommendation form submitted from a UM-Flint faculty member for each course to be tutored.
• A cover letter must be included with the resume, uploaded as one document.
