About The Position
The Turnover Technician plays a crucial role in the preparation and maintenance of the Operating Room (O.R.) prior to surgical procedures. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring that the O.R. is clean, organized, and fully equipped for surgeries. The technician assists the surgical staff in preparing the operating room, which includes setting up necessary equipment and supplies, as well as ensuring that the environment is sterile and safe for patients and medical personnel alike. In addition to preparing the O.R., the Turnover Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the operating room and perioperative areas. This includes disposing of soiled materials, cleaning surfaces, floors, and equipment, and ensuring that all instruments are properly reprocessed according to established guidelines. The technician also plays a vital role in inventory management, ensuring that adequate supplies are available and that emergency case carts are checked regularly. The role requires the technician to assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, setting up IVs, and positioning lights and tables as directed by the surgical team. The technician must also be prepared to respond to emergencies and codes in all areas of the facility, demonstrating the ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.
