The Turnaround Manager will manage Turnarounds and smaller plant outages from planning through completion. Days will include interfacing with site engineers, operations, engineering firms, procurement, and construction contractors to design, procure, and repair equipment to meet the stated objective from the Turnaround Steering Team. The candidate is responsible for implementing all aspects of the Turnaround.

  • Advises on safety expectations for the Turnaround and leads the team to achieve safety goals.
  • Serves as job representative and addresses all safety issues that arise with contractors brought on site for the execution of capital projects.
  • Ensures new installations adhere to INEOS Group Guidance Notes.
  • Ensures proper engagement with site SHE representatives and approvals of contractor safety plans.
  • Leads and directs the planning and execution of the turnaround.
  • Oversees the implementation of the TAR processes approved by the steering team.
  • Partners with the steering team and obtains decisions/guidelines if necessary.
  • Clearly formulates the project assignment and communicates it to the project team.
  • Ensures appropriate risk management, including risk-based scope assessments.
  • Oversees cost responsibility, equipped with powers such as PO approval.
  • Manages coordination, formulation and documentation of TAR targets (KPI).
  • Advises on description and monitoring of milestones.
  • Delivers definition of clear roles and responsibilities in the respective TAR organization.
  • Collaborative responsibility for compliance with security targets.
  • Implementation of the specifications by the steering team in concrete instructions and processes.
  • Defines the shutdown-specific organizational chart, ensuring sufficient staffing.
  • Oversees the exchange of information between the groups involved.
  • Manages the creation of an overall schedule and determines the critical path.
  • Management of integrated planning and execution and coordination of all work.
  • Provides an overview of all technical projects with a share in the TAR.
  • Oversight of organization of meetings, reviews, presentations.
  • Defines and initiates contractor management.
  • Participates in the creation of procurement and contracting strategies.
  • Organizes holistic, cross-zone progress monitoring.
  • Ensures troubleshooting during the execution phase.
  • Initiates post TAR activities, such as billing, final documentation and lessons learned.
  • Manages the closeout and documentation of drawings and equipment records upon completion of the Turnaround.
  • BS Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 years of chemical plant experience.
  • Experience executing more than 1 Turnaround as a Turnaround Manager.
  • Broad basic technical knowledge in the relevant specialist areas.
  • Knowledge of the planning and implementation of shutdowns or comparable projects.
  • Experience in project management, especially in leading project teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), SAP PM, scheduling (e.g. MS Project).
  • Basic knowledge of cost estimating and cost controlling.
  • Experience in project management, especially in leading project teams.
