About The Position

The Turkish/Azeri Translator position at Leidos involves providing expert translation, interpretation, and transcription services for a variety of materials. The translator will support the National Security Sector by ensuring effective communication and documentation in both Turkish/Azeri and English, contributing to the mission of enhancing security and intelligence operations.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent formal military training with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Turkish and Azeri languages, with strong English-language skills for communication and reporting.
• Ability to pass a language test administered by Leidos or an accepted commercial testing vendor.
• Understanding of regional dialects and cultural nuances.

Nice To Haves

• Experience deployed as a linguist in contingency operations.
• Knowledge of the U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, and law enforcement.
• Proficiency in multiple languages.

Responsibilities

• Accurately translate reports and texts in electronic and hard-copy formats, capturing intended implications and nuances.
• Interpret spoken language accurately, primarily through consecutive interpretation, with occasional simultaneous interpretation as needed.
• Transcribe audio or internet materials with a high degree of accuracy and expression.
• Prepare reports with excellent English-language written communication skills.
