About The Position
Amentum is looking for a Turbine Generator Mechanic to join our team in McLean, VA! As a Turbine Generator Mechanic, you will inspect, repair, adjust, test, and replace parts as required on assigned turbine generator units. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Identify all sp a re parts as needed for u se an d st oc k invent o r y . Responsible for all fir e s uppressio n sy s tems an d maintenance connected with th e generat o rs. Int e rfac e with o u tside s ervice contr a ct o rs used for specialty w o rk on the turbine generat o r unit s . Responsible for receivi n g fuel deliveries and tan k rec o rd s . Direct maintenance per s onnel as assigned by th e Chief Engineer. Perform oth e r jo b -relate d work a s assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years turbine engine experience.
- High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.
- Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Capable of troubleshooting using prints, diagrams, and specifications
- Possess a strong background in gas turbine engines
- A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Three years’ experience with generator systems.
- Ability to write correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all engine and generator maintenance related to the turbine generator units and subsystems.
- Perform all service checks following manufacturer recommendations.
- Keep adequate and proper operational and maintenance logs.
- Identify all spare parts as needed for use and stock inventory.
- Responsible for all fire suppression systems and maintenance connected with the generators.
- Interface with outside service contractors used for specialty work on the turbine generator units.
- Responsible for receiving fuel deliveries and tank records.
- Direct maintenance personnel as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
- Perform other job-related work as assigned.
