About The Position

Hill International is seeking a Tunnel Lead in the United States This dynamic role will lead project delivery and support business development activities to execute projects and help capture new underground construction projects in the water/wastewater and transit markets.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of project management and/or construction management experience for tunneling projects in the water/wastewater and/or transit markets
  • BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent required
  • Experience with various underground construction approaches including tunneling boring machines (TBM), New Austrian Tunneling Method, and earth pressure balance machine (EPBM)
  • Strong understanding and experience with various geologies and underground components including but not limited to hard rock, soils/sand, gases, and shale
  • Experience working with governmental, local agencies, and contractors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have ability to relocate to the project and/or travel to job sites and collocate with clients

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer registration preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager and/or Tunneling Subject Matter Expert for major underground construction projects within the United States
  • Serve as the Hill central point of contact, functional leader, and senior tunneling SME
  • Provide technical guidance to lead and manage multi-disciplined teams
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of project teams to ensure compliance with contract agreements and maintain client satisfaction
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities and growth-related initiatives in the underground market in conjunction with Regional Managers and Business Development Leaders
  • Lead and/or support various business development activities to successfully win new work including, but not limited to client relationship development, teaming arrangements, proposal development, oral presentation, and contract negotiation
  • Partner with Operations, Business Development and Recruiting Leaders to source and hire talent to meet business needs
