Requirements

Merchant Mariners Credentials
Valid Driver License
Valid TWIC Card
Must be able to pass Merchant Mariner Physical/CG-719K and Drug Screening
Must have a Satisfactory Background Check
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Physical fitness and the ability to handle the demands of working on a vessel
Subject to Random Drug Screening

Responsibilities

Crew safety, vessel safety and Environmental protection
Maintenance and repair of all vessel machinery and equipment and vessel structure in engineering spaces.
Notification to the Captain and Port Captain of all deficiencies and problems requiring attention.
Assisting Deckhand with line handling and educating the deckhand on engineering
Filling out and submitting the Weekly Vessel Condition Report and Requisition form and maintaining an up-to-date engine room log.
Oily waste management.
Firefighting and Security duties.
Loading of vessel food stores and meal preparation (lunch)
Assisting the Captain in any of his/her responsibilities as needed or requested.
Assisting in the overall cleanliness of the entire vessel
