About The Position

Set up and operate the line in order to produce product that meets quality specifications, maintain the machine systems, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot common machine/quality problems.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 35-45 lbs.
  • Ability to stand ten hours (twelve during busy season) and walk up and down steps.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and complete initial thread up of machine, i.e knife set up, change paper
  • Monitor process, correct jams and other problems that occur.
  • Prepare quality check sheet; ability to read a tape measure.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of line to GMP standards by removing paper and other trash, removing dust and debris, etc.
  • Shut down equipment at end of shift, daily and weekends.
  • Troubleshoot minor quality and machine problems; communicate more complex problems to maintenance.
  • Understand functions of glue system; monitor in order to prevent spills.
  • Complete changeovers as required in order to meet production demands.
  • Change core knives when necessary.
  • Any other duties as requested or required.
  • Operate forklift to replenish rolls of core paper if needed.
  • Transport full cartons of cores to the designated storage or production area if necessary.
