About The Position

The Tube Mill Loader/Unloader is responsible for ensuring the efficient offloading and bundling of tubes from the mill or powder coat line, while maintaining quality standards. This role requires teamwork and physical strength to handle materials and operate machinery, contributing to the timely delivery of high-quality products to customers.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and push weights between 10-50 lbs, with team lifting for over 50 lbs.
• Basic understanding of inventory management and coil specifications.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating banding guns or similar machinery.
• Familiarity with quality control processes in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Offload tube from Mill or Powder coat line tables into bundles.
• Verify quality of the tube while bundling to prevent quality issues.
• Operate banding gun to band bundles together with steel strips.
• Take direction from the Mill Manager.
• Review Mill Schedule with the Mill Manager.
• Select steel coil from inventory to suit the schedule.
• Check coil tag against inventory list for accuracy.
• Collect coil tags and record information to turn in to the Mill Operator at the end of the shift.
• Stage coils for the shift near the uncoiler as time permits.
• Mount coil on uncoiler and set up tail end of working coil at shear welder.
• Rotate uncoiler with new coil into position and feed weld into strip accumulator.
• Alert Cut Off Operator of approaching buttweld and assist as needed.
• Notify Mill Manager of any difficulties with machinery.
