The CNC Tube Laser Machine Operator is responsible for the execution and running of a CNC tube laser operation. Responsibility for the setups, working with CNC programs and machine software along with the general running of the tube laser operations. Works under general supervision; relies on experience and general instructions to perform the functions of the job.

  • Operate CNC tube laser cutting machine used in the production process.
  • Stage material, load material and unload finished material from machine.
  • Program machine per order requirements and nesting software to minimize scrap.
  • Checks processed aluminum tube shapes to ensure operation is producing to required job specifications.
  • Trouble-shoot as necessary to optimize machine productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Provide a high level of detail and attention to focus on the given task.
  • Ensure production schedules are followed and process paperwork as necessary.
  • Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures.
  • Monitor machine inputs and perform preventive maintenance tasks per manufacturers machine recommendations.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum high school diploma.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of running CNC laser machines, tube laser experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mathematical functions.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret the various Machine Code for CNC machines.
  • Working knowledge of computer equipment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner.
  • Ability to recognize quality of material.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform LOTO.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
  • Demonstrate ability to use and operate hand tools.
  • Ability to pay attention to surroundings.
  • Ability to identify safety issues in their work area, and notice equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, read blue prints or plans, and to utilize calipers and measuring gauges in both metric and standard systems.
  • Ability to use basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot the machine or equipment in use.
  • Ability to understand efficiencies and productivity measures.
  • Demonstrate eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to work under immediate supervision.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Ability to work hours mandated by management.
