About The Position

The Trust Officer is responsible for the administration of trust and investment agency accounts, identifying and developing new business opportunities. This role involves regular communication with grantors and beneficiaries to maintain positive relationships, reviewing account balance sheets, and consulting with the trust investment officer to monitor account holdings. The Trust Officer will also review daily account activities to ensure accuracy and monitor cash balances for liquidity needs, attend Trust Committee meetings, and build professional relationships with bank officers and legal and accounting professionals. Maintaining a current knowledge of trust and investment laws and regulations is essential, as is keeping management informed of activities, opportunities, and problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.B.A.) in Accounting or Finance or Law Degree or equivalent on-the-job training and experience in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of three to five years trust or related experience.
  • Knowledge of Windows XP, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Superior written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Strong logic, reasoning, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy at all times.
  • Complete confidentiality required.
  • Highest degree of ethical standards required.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with grantors and beneficiaries on a regular basis to develop and maintain positive relationships.
  • Review account balance sheets and consult with trust investment officer regularly to monitor account holdings.
  • Review daily activity in accounts to ensure accuracy and monitor cash balances for liquidity needs.
  • Attend Trust Committee meetings.
  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities with both existing and new clients.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with bank officers and legal and accounting professionals.
  • Project and maintain the bank's professional image.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of trust and investment laws and regulations.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required and assigned.
  • Keep management aware of activities, opportunities, and problems.
