About The Position

The Trust Associate is an integral part of the Trust & Wealth Management team whose responsibilities may be based on either Personal Trust or Institutional Trust tasks. A Trust Associate may be tasked with a variety of functions that include and are not limited to providing high-quality assistance to Trust Officers and clients by assisting with the day-to-day administrative and clerical functions of the department. Additionally, Trust Associates will participate in the administration of complex trusts and estates, acting as a corporate fiduciary for high-net-worth individuals and families. As a Trust Associate a strong understanding and background in legal or tax will be beneficial in managing fiduciary duties and administration of personal and institutional trust accounts. Location: This position will primarily be an in-office and in-person position within the company’s footprint with a preference for locations in the Greater New Orleans/Metairie, Louisiana locations.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent (GED) required, a Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of administrative, business, or related experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document, if required, to perform the essential job functions.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds, if required, to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division and “undue hardship,” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support including photocopying, scanning, faxing and daily e-filing.
  • Prepare opening and closing documentations for new and closed accounts.
  • Collect data necessary for account opening and review for accuracy.
  • Responsible for annual administrative and investment account reviews.
  • Analyze Wills and trust documents to identify legal, tax, administrative, and investment issues.
  • Establish e-files for new accounts.
  • Process distributions to beneficiaries and payments for trust-related expenses and bills (Personal Trust).
  • Assist the VA Administrator, as needed, on day-to-day tasks related to account administrative functions (Institutional Trust).
  • Actively pursue and assist in new business development opportunities.
  • Maintain and build strong client relationships by attending client meetings as required.
  • Assist in gathering data for fiduciary, individuals and estate tax returns.
  • Process outgoing and incoming mail, including postage and sorting.
  • Assist with preparing client and prospect marketing material.
  • Maintain an ongoing relationship with clients via written and oral communication.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
