About The Position

The Trust Accounting Intern will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of supporting schedules related to capital activity, preparation of payment templates, preparation of journal entries in the accounting system, and preparation of bank and account reconciliations for transactions occurring in a complex structure of Trusts. Additional responsibilities will include assistance with data reconciliations related to system implementations for three new accounting support systems. The Trust Accounting Intern will gain knowledge and understanding of basic accounting concepts, learn to utilize accounting software, increase proficiency with Excel functionality, gain an understanding of reconciliation and research process and receive some exposure to private equity/alternative assets.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, economics or completed a Bachelor's degree in another field of study
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization
High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn accounting concepts

Responsibilities

Update cash flow activity related to alternative assets in Excel workbooks
Prepare payment templates related to capital activities
Learn accounting software and prepare basic journal entries related to Trust activity
Prepare monthly bank and account reconciliations
Data management duties associated with investment-related documents received
Assist with data reconciliations and system implementation testing for new accounting systems
Be responsive to the needs and ad-hoc requests from the Trust Accounting and Corporate Accounting departments.
