Truss Builders promote our Safety mindset while working efficiently to produce quality trusses. They may work solo or as a part of a team. Truss Builders work on piece rate. An ideal Truss Builder will have basic technology knowledge and will be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of the operation of all machinery and equipment used within primary job duty, eg. truss press, up cut saw, bander, finish roller.
  • Basic understanding of technology for the operation of electronics for inventory
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Math skills as it relates to lumber
  • Ability to read and interpret truss design plans
  • Able to consistently lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
  • 90% of work to be performed in an environment subject weather, noise, and dust

Responsibilities

  • Operates truss press including set up, change overs and clean-up.
  • Build RV trusses, manufactured home trusses, or floor trusses depending on orders and production needs.
  • Interprets job orders assigned.
  • Meets production goals as outlined by truss type.
  • Produces quality trusses as designed in truss print
  • Understands required grade/quality and inspects finished products for quality standards.
  • Works with production management to identify changes to processes and procedures, as appropriate.
  • Understands, observes and promotes all safety policies and procedures.
  • Operates additional equipment related to production.
  • May assist in training and cross training.
  • Reports production accurately through utilized programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
