About The Position

This position is responsible for washing tractor/trailer rigs and the transportation of rigs to and from the wash bay area, while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Operational duties include assisting team members, reporting mechanical breakdowns, keeping the work area clean, completing documentation, performing preventative maintenance, driving tractor/trailer to the wash bay, cleaning the inside of the tractor, assuring rim cleanliness, inspecting vehicles for replacement or painting, recording washed vehicles, reporting repairs, and using high-pressure hoses. Quality assurance tasks involve performing QA and HACCP duties, cleaning foreign material from trailers, and maintaining the fleet for timely raw material transport. Safety responsibilities include following plant safety rules and SOPs, using proper PPE, reporting hazards and injuries, exercising caution on slick surfaces, avoiding moving parts, using proper LOTO procedures, and safe chemical handling. The role requires physical ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and withstand various weather conditions.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be able to read and write.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to 20 feet.
Willing to participate and demonstrate team effort.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to withstand heat, cold and inclement weather, if applicable.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Valid and current driver’s license.
Must be able to use basic hand tools.
Require basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
Must pass MVR.
Must have 3 months of working history with one employer listed on the application.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Prefer GED or high school diploma.
Prefer 3 months of operator experience.

Responsibilities

Wash tractor/trailer rigs.
Transport rigs to and from the wash bay area.
Maintain a clean and safe environment in the wash bay area.
Assist team members in emergencies or during slack time.
Inform supervisor of any mechanical breakdown or problem.
Keep work area clean and safe.
Complete all necessary documentation.
Perform preventative maintenance or maintenance on equipment in the assigned work area.
Drive tractor/trailer to the wash bay.
Clean the inside of the tractor.
Assure cleanliness of rims and inspect vehicles for replacement or painting requirements.
Record the number of tractors/trailers washed each shift.
Report any needed repairs.
Use high-pressure hoses.
Perform Quality Assurance and HACCP duties.
Clean foreign material out of all trailers (e.g., metal, slag).
Maintain the fleet to assure timely transport of raw materials.
Follow all plant safety rules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) based on specific job.
Mix chemicals for cleaning trailers and trucks.
Use face shield, gloves, and rainsuit when chemical cleaning or mixing.
Be aware of other moving vehicles to prevent injury or property destruction.
